This sucks

everyone is getting their housing assignments except for me -i'm really bummed - i just want to be in a dorm - even in a temporary space - and i want to figure it out - i just wanna get it over with - dang...maybe i can room with ben - maybe not - hopefully though i can be exactly where God wants me - and i know that i will - its just such a bummer that i hear stories and stuff - and i'm not in yet - anyhow - i won my 2 games at king of the beach -so i'm in our bracket finals - and hopefully i'll win that tonite

Friday, July 11, 2003

today i was driving along and i saw a sign for "sno-cones" and it pointed down a street - so i turned around and proceeded to support the local industrious attitudes of some young entrepreneurs - i pull up and they charge me 1 dollar for a 'sno-cone' served in a 16 oz. styro. cup - it was mostly ice and it had just a little bit of flavoring - so - it was like slightly flavored ice not a sno cone - but its ok - i was glad to pay them and tip them a quarter each - those young guys are up to something good - keepin out of trouble...ha

anyway - as i was driving along - eating my crushed ice - i started to think - hey - i would expect some young'ns like that to overdo the flavoring

instead - they under-flavored it - bummer...

i'm over at miori's updating and my family just told me that we're going to New York in the next few weeks - yay

update time -

i am up at a&m for my orientation - and i'm having a really good time - surprisingly -

i'm getting really really excited about just like - getting into the world of college - being on my own and meeting SO MANY NEW PEOPLE - its really very cool -

i got my ID today and i signed up for my claim account - so i can access everything like - schedules and stuff - but tomorrow will be the real test at 1:30 when it becomes a crapshoot for classes - its crazy - i'm sure i'll blog at a later time - but i just got back from mission trip in chicago - it was way awesome - definately taken out of my comfort zone was i - walking the streets of englewood ya know - the 3rd roughest neighborhood in America - 1st in chicago - it was quite and experience - stories later

Friday, June 27, 2003

well - my deepest apologies for those of you who have visited my blog within the past few weeks and have seen no such update - its a shame that there is not more time in the day to do the things i would like to do - i.e. blogging, sleeping, et cetera...

however - since my last post - i've done a few amazing things - first of all - i've graduated from high school - i am going to Texas A&M University in College Station next year and i'm unbelievably excited - so far this summer i've already visited the following places (in chronological order):

Panama City Beach, Florida
Miami, Florida
Labadee, Haiti
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Georgetown, Grand Caymans
Cozumel, Mexico
Cleveland, Ohio (layover)
Greensboro, North Carolina

and i'm scheduled to fly from N.C. to Chicago, Illinois, and then back to Spring

I calculated that of the 30 days in June, I've spent 9 at home, that means - sleeping and eating in my house. Its kinda upsetting - i really would love to spend alot more time with my friends - however i did get to go to Panama City Beach with my chruch youth group and on a 7 day cruise with Kyle Craddock and some other guys including Daniel Lockley and Rob Davis. Kyle and I met some girls from Minnesota - they have funny accents - Howdy girls, if you're reading this -

After coming home from the cruise on Saturday, I left this past wednesday morn for North Carolina, since my brother Steven is playing in the 2003 Southern Regional. Select soccer teams are part of United States Youth Soccer Assn. - and they have a national tournament - starting within the state - so the state champions go on to 1 of 4 regional championships to face other state champs - and the regional winners meet in the Final Four of the nation at 'nationals' in Baltimore. So, Steve's team has made it thus far and hopefully they'll do well at this regional tournament. I get to watch 3 of their games then i leave for Chicago - and our missions trip with our church - i'm really excited to get to serve in
Chicago - When i get back on the 7th - i immediately go to A&M for my testing and NewStudent Conference - where i get my schedule for next year - what i'm hoping for is no 8 am classes and no classes on friday -however - i will sacrafice either one to get one of those 2

I WILL POST later this week before i leave - regarding feelings and thoughts i've had in the past few weeks - thanks for reading this - and please continue to be my friend - ha.

well let me...uhh...'clarify some things'
1st of all - i edited my last post to pacify upset critics - maybe i shared a little too much
2nd of all - never did i ever say that catholicism was wrong - i know that its a religion that people believe in - i know this - i'm not denying it or criticizing it at all - in fact - its believes coincide with mine as a Christian - i would classify myself as a non-denominational Christian - not a Baptist or Methodist or Catholic - i'm just a christian - but all i mean by my comments about the museum - was that i was confused as to some of the thoeretical reasons behind such an extravagant display - i mean - i'll stick by what i said in that, some parts didnt make sense to me, i simply was confused about the extravagance with which it was presented - i wish i had someone there to ask questions of but since i didnt - i still remain confused to this day
- the art was amazing, from the papal tiaras to the plaster reliefs of bernini to the drawings of michelangelo - and the educational value of the exhibit was undeniable as well - i learned alot about the catholic religion as well as other religions (there being a section of how catholicism - the Pope to be more specific - interacts with other religions - i.e. the 'Thanka' hand stitched by the Dali Lama, given to John Paul in '79 i believe it was)
and i'm sorry if i personally offended anyone with my comments -in NO WAY do i HATE the catholic church or anyone who is catholic-and i pray that no one mistakes me as an ignorant, hateful, bigot
i'm sure that i'm the only one with views differing from others- but isnt that what makes us all diverse? the fact that we can get along in the midst of our differing feelings.

Thursday, May 29, 2003

Well i went to the museum of natural science today and i saw an exhibit on Popes and the Vatican - it was really cool - and a few things came to my mind as i meandered through the exhibit:
1- old people have nothign to do during the day - i realize that this is an exhibit which might spark more interest in older people than younger ones, however - there was just a complete domination of women over 65 - with white hair parading around in groups yelling to each other since they couldnt understand their own words over the "audio tour earphone set" they were wearing...it was so bad- i would gently wisper (it is a museum after all) "excuse me ma'am" and even slightly tap them on the shoulder - no response - it was so stupid - like i tried not to get frustrated but it was futile - however the exhibit was nice but it did spark another set of feelings:
2- with all the starving people all over the world as well as the instability in the catholic church (so it seems to an onlooker) i found all of these exhibits unbelievably, outrageously too much - as i walked through, the exhibit was selfguided and began with many works of art from painters and sculptors ranging from modern works to works from the 400's - paintings, frescos, statues, etc.- and that was very nice - some of the reliefs done by bernini were unbelieveable - then we got to the papal artifacts part of the exhibit - and thats were my mind raced - as i walked through -looking at jeweled crowns made of gold and rubys and diamonds, i thought to myself - wow - this is completely unnecessary - now i understand - it is part of a history of the catholic church - and these were implemented in the past into the papal vocation, however - it just seemed like too much - from the 30 pound hand embroidered gowns that the popes wore once or twice, to the exhuberant staffs made of sterling silver with picutres of the crucifix decorated with rubies and gems. i thought - and actually heard a few comments very close to this one: "i probably shouldnt be saying this but, ya know what - with all of the poor children throughout the world, and the catholic third world countries, it seems as if this is all a little much" - and when i heard that - yea....anyhow - so we went on to see the velvet ivory chair in which the newly elected pope (elected by all of the worlds cardinals) rides around the streets of the vatican and rome in, and we saw the pure white ostritch tail feathers with which him and the 12 men who carry the throne on his shoulders are fanned off with - and it just seemed to me that this isnt what a religion should be all about - it should be about a relationship with God -

thats just my feelings - take it for what you wish -

that was my exciting day - ben also got an airsoft gun - and we're having a war at will's old house at 8 - bring the pain, girls

Friday, May 23, 2003

And prom is over

the beach was so much fun i cant believe it - we shot each other with airsoft guns, snuggled around fires, played in the ocean, traded money with each other through hours and hours of poker, and ate much food provided by the girls.

What a great memory

As we were walking out of capital Grille, where we ate, matt skains sees a ferrari and gawks, so the owner comes up and starts talkign to him; skains is telling him about his car's specs and the guys like - hey - hop in - check this out and so skains does, wait it gets better, he lets skains start it up, wait it gets better, he tells skains he races them and gives him his card "call me and we'll go driving" he says to skains, and he goes on "if your group didnt have to leave, i would let you drive it." so our group doesnt leave - and he drives it around westheimer and streets for a few minutes - wow -like this is a silver FERARRI - like amazing - any how

ape was a blast - my roommate won a digital camera, and i didnt win anything - except a good time

i got accepted into a&m - i'm very relieved and excited so, yea...

Sunday, May 18, 2003

Sunday, May 11, 2003

There ya go
i just got back from oklahoma - visiting the University of Oklahoma and Whitney

it was really cool - i loved the campus - it really is nicer than a&m's but i'm not sure what i'm going to do
i have a deicion to make between the 2 schools and its really tough - i dont know what to do -

oh well

i stayed with whitney in her new summer house and her roomate was not there the first night so my mom and i got a room - saturday after i went on a tour of the campus, i was very tired so i went to take a nap and whatever - my mom went shopping and whitney was napping in the other room - and her roomate (who was graduating that day) decided to bring her whole family - over to see her house she was living in this summer - and her room happend to be the one i was napping in - so this is how the situation worked out
-i hear whitney get up and welcome them to the house and i think to myself - you have 3 options here (as i was sleeping in ONLY my shorts)
1. Get up and shut the door quickly -
2. Pretend to be asleep as they peek in the room
3. Get up, put a shirt on and go meet the people - expecting them to be gone in a few minutes

now this isnt a particularly big house - so you can here where people are and stuff
so i hear whitney say "and this is my room..." (next door) and i think "ok - decision time" - so i decide option 3 - get up and put a t-shirt on - and just as i bound off the bead and dive for a t-shirt - whitney's roomate's sister peeks her head in - and sees my scrambling through my stuff on the side of the bed for a t-shirt - and i think she happened to see me dive off the bed as well - and i KNOW she noticed whitney coming from down the hall when she came to greet the guests...so i said - "hi." and the situation was awkward from the get-go
so i walk in to the living room - down the hall - and i notice her sister is pregnant and sitting down - and we catch eyes as i step in to the room and i just smile and nod and listen and meet some people and afterward - i got to tell whitney and her roomate - the story - it was very funny i must say....yea - anyhow - i did have a great time this weekend though visiting OU - thanks again whitney and janna for letting me stay w/ ya'll - and thanks mom - for being my mom and for driving up there and staying with me too

Variety show is over
and so is the weekend following it -
we have some excellent new standleaders and some standleaders that i personally am bewildered at how they made it -i'm just beside myself at the list of people who didnt make it - more than i am at the people who did make it - i mean - it was crazy - i was at tryouts and i saw who did well and who had crappy tryouts and crappy shirts - i saw that and i remembered and i'm pretty sure that every standleader there voted for many of the people who didnt make it - and i'm not sure about the teachers but - it just seems so weird to me - who knows

well its over and its really too bad to see my school year end - especially such a big part of it - eh...but its ok - soon enough i'll be opening a new chapter in my life...we'll see

Wednesday, April 30, 2003

Well herre i sit, its 9 52 and i just woke up. I love going in late - its really really great, and i certainly want to have late classes in college - ya know - the 10 am classes followed by the 2 pm then be done for a day

but i know that may not happen, especially if i get into a&m late

well i'm fixing to go get breakfast, on a school day

its miori's bday tom. - happy bday bud if you are reading this - we're playing tonite - and you're gonna have a blast

i'm so sick and tired of klein's administration and how i have limits on what i can and cant do in school - i'm not talking about crazy things - i'm talking about - walking down the hall during lunch, where i get stopped asking where i'm going
"i'm not in school ma'am, matt and i dont have a class right now, we are running errands"
"ok, well where is your pass?"

"ma'am you dont understand, we arent in school, we dont have a class right now"
"well, son, i dont think i can let you go down the hall without a pass"

go figure...and wait - tardies - i may not have exemptions - somethign else from high school that i wont be dealing with in a few months
i might not keep them if i'm tardy 2 more times - see - i have to be at a certain place when they tell me to - my life is controlled by bells
and i'm sick of it

very sick of it

very, very, extremely sick of it

Sunday, April 27, 2003

Yo everyone - i hope all is well

i got done with another weekend and boy and am i tired

it was filled with poker, ninjas and variety show rehersals
holy crap - some people cant focus on anything and get done what needs to get done
instead, they want to goof around and stay at the school wasting time because they dont want to go home

eh...o well - its gonna be worth it friday - when the show is - and next years standleaders will be named...wow

its so crazy to think that i have 4 weeks left in the year...in my high school life - its just wild

I'm about to post my SATIRICAL ESSAY that i wrote for english the other day -
i got some bad vibes after reading my essay and i wanted to make sure that no person felt singled out and hurt by my comments
i was hoping that everyone who heard me read aloud our assignment - as we were supposed to - would realize that this was supposed to be an EXTREME, OUTRAGEOUS EXAMPLE...but - i think that some ppl really thought i might do this - wow - that blows me away - it was a satire - (see dictionary.com) for definition - and it had a ring of truth to it - but just about the issue - here
you make the call...remember - THIS IS A SATIRICAL ESSAY

My Modest Proposal (Based on Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal"

In Jon Bon Jovi’s song Its My Life he says “It's my life / It's now or never / I ain't gonna live forever / I just want to live while I'm alive”. This seems to be the feeling of many teenagers today. Anyone should be allowed to do what they want; why should we respect authority – and obey the rules that apply to our lives. Because they are stupid, because they have no meaning and those who made the rules just “don’t get it” or “have no clue what its like living today”. A certain area where many teenagers feel as if they have the right to blatantly disregard the rule is with alcohol. It is evident today in many high schools especially – both public and private, that underage drinking has gotten far out of control. Teenagers with immaturity lack the discipline and the critical thinking skills to disregard opportunities to be, and subsequently drive intoxicated. Many teenagers feel as if it is their lives, and why should they let opportunities for fun pass them by? You only live once you know, many will say, however, I propose that in “living life to the fullest” there is quite a high risk of death as well.
If someone is to notice that on a typical weekend during the school year, many high school students make the decision to drink and drive, they would realize how big an issue it really is. I believe that I have found a way to solve this problem. In order to solve the problem, a complex plan would need to be put into place, however, this plan would only need to be done once in a wide mile radius of subdivisions. I would use an informant to find out where there would be a party where underage drinking might occur – and have that informant contact the event coordinator when someone who is evidently intoxicated is leaving the party to drive under the influence. The coordinator would then take a number of armored vehicles and follow the intoxicated driver until the right opportunity presented itself for one of the vehicles to slam into the car with the driver, making sure that the car would subsequently burst into flames, and the driver would be killed by either the violent crash or the burning aftermath. Some people think that teenagers think they are invincible, and I must admit, that sometimes, as a teenager I feel that way too. I believe that a public sacrifice of a teen drunk driver would definitely make others feel as if they weren’t invincible, and perhaps cause many to realize what a horrid mistake underage drinking is. If one were to take a close look, they would realize how out of hand it has gotten and how many teens don’t have enough strength to say no to peers and to realize what a bad thing it is, and see how they could easily support my proposal. There are a few advantages to this “sacrifice”. For example, to reiterate, people would definitely have a wake up call, and someone would lose a friend. Others might ask, “Is this really a viable solution?” Another might propose to launch a big anti-underage drinking campaign, showing the violent effects of it all without the personal trauma, or even stage a large, fake accident, that only appears real, but in actuality no one was hurt. Granted, it may be a little extreme, but if you sit down and think about it, it really makes sense. Only one teenager would lose their life, as opposed to countless others who might drink and drive, had this public example not been made

there...take it for what you want

Monday, April 21, 2003

Thanks
Daniel

Saturday, March 22, 2003

I am not quite sure how many of my blog readers happen to read also jon boben's blog
but now i'm going to paste exactly what he wrote in one of his most recent posts of the war
thank you jon, for being a great guy and organizing your thoughs thus:

"Alright, now that we’re actually at war, it’s time to stop the ridiculous protests. We’ve heard your message, and most of us disregarded it. “No blood for oil,” you chant down the drag, ignoring the fate that could have been if we let the evil dictator ignore the resolutions of the Security Council. What is a resolution without enforcement to back it? It is a mere suggestion.

Mr. Hussein,
Would you kindly destroy your weapons of mass destruction at a time that is convenient for you? The threat they pose is quite a bother to the rest of the world, and we would really appreciate it if you could comply with UNSC Resolution 1441, if you can fit it into your schedule, that is.

Thank you ever so much,
You friends at the council

How convincing does that sound? Put yourself in the shoes of the dictator for a moment. If someone sent you this letter, what would your first course of action be? Would you immediately leap off of your throne and begin to call in you cabinet to initiate the immediate destruction of the said weapons? I think not. You would probably gather up a few look-alikes, acquire a few castles, and have the said weapons constantly moving so that inspectors could have virtually no chance of finding them.

If, as a dictator, you know that there is no threat of enforcement, there is also no motivation to comply. In fact, you can continue to kill and rape the people over which you rule. You can have a team of scientists to develop nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons. You can continue to be a threat to the world; a thorn in its side.

But everyone longs to be loved. That’s what a lot of us live for. Soon you, too, will seek love. Where will you find someone that can look past all of the evil deeds you’ve performed over the years? Luckily for you, there are plenty of people who will do so. First, you can turn to a Baggett munching, cheese eating, wine drinking, smelly bunch of cowards that we call the French. Jacques Chirac, the President of this socialist wasteland, was quoted as saying, "As far as I'm concerned, war always means failure." It has become apparent over the years, that France has almost become synonymous with failure. Perhaps instead of freedom fries and freedom toast, we should have failure fries and failure toast. Though somewhat less appetizing, the name is significantly more relevant to this embarrassment of a country.

You’ll also be able to find allies in ignorant protestors all over the United States. Their country gives them the right to protest its actions, and they will use that right to the fullest extent. Liberal universities will cancel classes so that students may go into nearby towns and cities to protest the war with your nation. Streets of major cities will be blocked off by hundreds and hundreds of bodies. You are very lucky, Mr. Dictator, that these people haven’t the ability to comprehend what the future will be like if your regime isn’t decapitated.

A dozen people standing around a statue of a dead man holding signs probably aren’t going to cause Washington to shut down, and the war in Iraq to immediately end. If it makes you feel good about yourselves, then by all means continue to protest the war that is currently going on. (Heaven forbid we would inhibit you from inflating your ego!) Take a stand against the quarter of a million American troops that are currently in the gulf fighting for your right to take a stand against them. Quite a paradox, isn’t it? But, if for some reason you actually wanted to help the world to become a better place, perhaps you should cut your metaphorical hair, stomp out your metaphorical flowers, get yourself out of the Vietnam War era fantasy you're stuck in, and go become a productive member of society. No one wants to listen to you anymore.

According to the Houston Chronicle, the Harris County Democratic Party passed a resolution saying it "opposes a pre-emptive war against Iraq without the support of the United Nations Security Council." Well, thank goodness. I know the entire world was on the edge of their seats waiting to see how the Harris Country Democratic Party felt about the war. I don’t know what would happen to the situation overseas if the county party organization wouldn’t have publicized this 15-1 vote."

Ladies and gentlemen,
Jon Boben

Saturday, March 15, 2003

hello to all of my readers- friends - i hope the remainder of your spring break treats you well
i had an exciting few hours doing stuff w/ steve morris

and many people come back in town today
!

party time

Wednesday, March 12, 2003

Well i just got back from exciting Port Aransas - there was not alot to do there but our family managed to have a good time - i'm glad we went. Some of the things we did included: deep sea fishing, having the most miserable lunch ever, playing the most God-awful golf course ever...you might think that you've played it - but ya know what - you havent...unless you've played "Coral Dunes" or whatever its called...it was horrid...more on that later..., and walking up and down a beach with sand as hard has pavement.

Anyhow - so tuesday our family decides to find a golf course in Port Aransas - and not expecting Augusta, we call around and find this course - Dunes whatever...and decide to give it a whirl - so we go in to the "pro-shop" which is nothing more than a temp. trailor - since the new "club house" was being built beside it - it was actually very impressive looking but - why they had a 2 story building for this course...God only knows...anyhow - we walk in and this lady - very nice- looks up and asks us if we were "spring breakers" in to play some golf - and my dad informs her that we are...so she says - ya know what - i'm gonna give you guys a discount - so she charges us 15 bux per person - to walk 18 holes (which turned out to be walking the same 9 "holes" twice) So we get out there and we're fixing to tee up but the groundskeeper/marshall comes up to us and asks us if we've ever played here before -and we tell him that we havent and he says - well could ya'll just skip number 1 and come back to it later since i have to finish taking care of the greens? we agree - and then he informs us that ... now get this...the second hole- you just follow the cart path to get to it...and we all just smile but - as soon as he was out of earshot - we were laughing...i guess we looked pretty pathetic - anyhow- the "golf course" was set up that you have to play these 9 - par 3 holes - twice...but there is 2 different tee boxes and on the "big" greens - there were 2 different colored flags -the red boxes and flag were for the first hole and the blue boxes and flag were for the back 9 - anyhow - it was nuts- never did i ever use anything higher than a 8 iron and i used my pitching wedge to tee off most of the time...and the funniest parts - i have pictures - was one of the holes - numbers 7/16 i think it was - was about 40-49 yards long and all of us used our PUTTERS to tee off and put it to the green...it was hilarious - guess ya had to be there... well i'll spare you the story of Betty - the forgetful/alzheimers waitress from west texas who hated canned clam chowder...and how it took us 20 minutes to get our food at a local joint for lunch...granted it was crowded but 3 groups came, ate and left before we got our food - it was probably longer than 20 minutes...it was crazy...anyhow - we had fun...go to relax...caught some sharks from the deep sea - ate them for dinner...and now i'm back to enjoy the rest of my spring break - i love my family - God really has blessed me...
i'd like to play some poker- after watching the world championships on ESPN - this week were an amatuer won - beating out all these "seasoned professionals"...after a 6 hour long stand at the table...

anyway - aloha - call me if you'd like

Sunday, March 09, 2003

Wednesday, March 05, 2003

here it is wednesday- the week is already half over - its so nuts how time flys by
well no FCA - because the ACLU won their complaint hearing and now every club cannot convene until
new paperwork is passed...crazy...but ya know what - thats ok - no skin off my back
i dont support it but, ya know what, what can i do but be firm in my beliefs and live a good Christian life (or try to)
if all i do is piss and moan about it - what good does it do me? jack crap - thats what...
so - i'll do what i can to show these "homosexuals" what i believe to be truth...but i refuse to have my lifestyle changed by one club
being allowed...ya know? To each his own...

wow what a day

i suppose this will show up as sunday but - on saturday i decided to go up to college station to watch the fightin' texas aggie basketball team play OU.
to start of the day, i went up to the student building and met up there marti and matt and michael miori and steven miori and morris and we decided to pick up bobby and chelsea - so - we all would meet up at the mcdonalds on 2920 and 249, and as we (marti, miori and I) arrive, i see morris and chelsea walking toward his truck with food, and i get out of my car and hear "No!" from morris...and i see chelsea laugh - morris seemed to have left his keys in his car - RUNNING! and went to get food. i cant imagine for the best of me - how on God's green earth - steven morris could have done that...so we head to a&m - in 2 separate cars while morris waits for Ray - his dad to bring him a key...unbelievable - morris - thats why you werent in the top 10 percent or ever 15 percent for that matter...HA!
anyway - as we are to meet our friend at the freebirds on university - we drive over there in my mom's suburban and park it in a row of empty spaces nearby a 7-11 and we go to get some food, and leave to go to the game in our friends car...after the game...we come back to see.........NOT my mom's suburban, and to make a long story short, we go to way out in bryan to some po-dunk backwoods roads where we wait for the tow-trucker to arrive w/ my mom's burb - so we beat him there...there is pictures...marti has them and i'll try to post them soon...so we get the burb and we go to get some MORE freebirds and head home -where chelsea and i had a great talk - then to britts for a lil bit then out w/ jon boben - where we talked for about 1.5 hours about life...and its true meaning...ask us we think we know that we've figured it out...we think...any how

tom. is sunday...or actually today is

i just saw the second half of shawshank redemption...one of the best movies ever

hello everyone
this past weekend i had an extremely awesome time at my church retreat...
we attended this conference held at our church...
it was way cool to see so many people - close to 3000 students...
pack our church for this conference...
there was a drama team...and like i'm not one for religious drama teams...usually they tend to be melodramatic, unrealistic and not effective...but this team was way more than i expected...they portrayed the life to stephen - the first martyr in the Bible - in modern terms...actually futuristic terms... and it wasnt freakishly gay either...they did a great job of actually making it believable...so anyway - it was just a great number of acts - helping to explain Biblical principles about FAITH...and what specific scriptures talk about it and stuff...but the main verses the conference was based on was Hebrews 11 - basically the whole chapter...it talks about faith being defined as something we hope for and being certain of what we cannot see...i'll write more later dinner time

Thursday, February 20, 2003

anyway - sadie is tonite i'm super excited ...yay sadie - and i get to go with the cutest girl i know - brittany
anyway -

i hate it how like - some people will never ever learn how to manage thigns on their own...they dont have a job -and guess what...they arent struggling for money...and if they do have a job - they dont need the money - they just keep it - and use daddy's credit card...like thats fine - if God's blessed you with that - i understand but - like - i mean i just got a job and i owe money to my parents for borrowing money from them...like i owe them...they gave me money expecting it back...and it really makes me sick when people who dont like...need the money...and just are spoiled...like dont even realize it and try to be humble about it..."oh yea, i went to the mall and i got this awesome jacket and these new jeans and 87 shirts..."

right...i wish i had money to burn like that and if i did...i'd go to the Gap sale rack cuz they have some aweosme stuff back there - not right to abercrombie to get a nice shirt or something...brats

Granted, i'm so very thankful for the things i have -and i've been so blessed by God with my family and friends and food and whatever else...but - its just my feelings...take 'em or leave 'em

i was just surfing around trying to find someone who had updated their blog so i could read something interesting - my girlfriend did (see right - "britt fry is special") and adam hasnt in a long time - although adam, i know you are a blog reader regularly...or semi regularly - it seems that ash, you havent had time to update your blog...skains is not a slacker...whit...chip...slackers...and i know - i do it too - jon boben is allowed to because lindsay steck told me this weekend that she printed out his blog - like all entries - just to use her credits at the a&m library which is included in the fees - of free pages - 249 or something - no one comes close - and i dont know that anyone will...however - its still exciting to see regular posts

Tuesday, January 21, 2003

ok - well
here's a few things

i dont want to be confrontational but i think Grant, (grantsblog.blogspot.com) you are sorely confused -
let me clarify -
yes, Jesus drank. Jesus didnt get drunk - it was customary back then - there were no LAWS prohibiting drinking of wine - at a certain age - as far as i know -
there are LAWS today grant - that PROHIBIT consuming alcoholic drinks until you turn 21 -
when i turn 21 - i'm going to drink
i dont think i'm going to get plastered - but i will drink - grant - its not wrong to drink alcohol - so long as you are WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF THE LAW - what i'm saying is that i understand some of my friends drink - underage - and thats what i cant support - i still love them- they're my friends...but - i just cant support that if it goes against things i believe in

people who sway with their beliefs - "oh, now its ok i guess...just this one time..." or "well, since this happened its ok now..."
whatever - if you cant stand for important things in your life....what else is there to stand for ??

i'm not going to eventually sway from my belief (which i know is the truth) that underage drinking is wrong
drinking when you are of age - is not wrong - in fact - i'm willing to say its enjoyable sometimes- but thats just gonna have to wait

i hope that cleared it up for you grant...seriously...thank you for pointing stuff out...i appreciate your reading my blog and feedback...

tell me someone if i'm completely off base - or you think that i am...i'd really like to know...

eh...i'm trying to do my best...

Monday, January 20, 2003

I went to the movies with my wonderful girlfriend brittany - good times - i'm going to sleep in tom. like no mans business - i need to find a job like no man's business too

thank you to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for his efforts to bring this country to where it is today - as well as for giving me a day to sleep in and catch up on things - this one's for you Doc MLK

- class ranks on the 29th or 28th
- coldplay on the 28th - holy crap yes - steven will josh...oh dear sweetness
- NCL w/ karibus...
- Bens birthday (19)
- more things...i cant think of right now

Sunday, January 19, 2003

Tonight i was at Adam Hull's house for poker and cigars - fun times
i had my first 3 cigars

yay me

steve morris is gay and hates me

Thursday, January 16, 2003

allright - time for a good blog

well here's what i'm wondering
why is it that people are so selfish...and i'm the first one to admit that i can be too - i try not to and thats the important thing
why else is it that people want to drink -
as far as i can see, people who drink underage seem to do it for the following reasons:
- Friends are doing it
- They like getting drunk
- Its "fun" and they cant seem to find other things to do that are fun - or i've heard this one too -"it makes normally funny things even more funny....haha - jokes on you

here's the thing...i dont hate people who drink...in fact - i dont hate drinking - when i'm 21 i'm planning on drinking - not to an extreme but - to an extent that i think i can enjoy - and i'll figure it out then...not now (because the risks are just too stupid and too many)
what i do hate is the fact that its a sin...its wrong - illegal and it just has a negative connotation - it does...no matter how you put it - whether you support it or not...IT IS a negative thing - if i tell someone that i drink - occasionally or whatever...they still might have a negative image of me -
now - here's another thing that i've come to realize - what people do is not ALWAYS who they are - some of my good friend drink underage -and ya know what...they're still my friends...i still love hanging out with them when i can...its just that i dont support what they do - i wish they didnt do it - i dont want them to do it - its wrong that they do it...i mean - certainly its not "morally right" is it?
people just drink - they arent drinkers...they're people who drink...

do i think people should drink underage? heck freaking no
do i think its wrong? you bet
do i hate people who drink? no way!
can i ever support it? no
should i change what i believe because of what my friends do? definately NOT
will i encourage people to not (or stop) underage drinking? count on it
am i shallow for my thoughts? i dont think i am - in fact - no, i'm not
are you shallow for thinking that i cant accept the fact that people drink? yes

i accept the fact that its out there - and no matter what i say or other people say - with an exception for a few - people will still do it - and thats too bad - because money and time is better spent elsewhere - rather than on alcohol

here's what i want you to understand - i dont support drinking for a number of reasons - which you can figure out above - but what i do believe is that - its something people do, and if they happen to have the heart and strength to stop it and they have the brain power to realize how dumb it is to do it...then i know they can stop - and i'll help all the people i can who are willing to do that...but rest assured i dont turn my back to people who drink or whatever - they're only human...and we all screw up

eh...so long -

Lauren Denton and Sara Mosley

hi rachel -

well i drove to sugarland today - it was crazy - as i was driving i was thinking - it was nuts - like -i'm speaking for myself and i'm pretty sure that it applies to most every other person who lives around Northwest H-town - like we dont even have any idea what life is life outside of I-45 to 249 1960 to 2920 -

its crazy cuz - like we hardly ever venture out of that area and its too bad
theres so much to do - i wish i could do it more often -
i'm tired - this semester is going crazy already

i'll blog later
hi liz

Tuesday, January 07, 2003

today i went to pappasitos to turn in my appication to pappasitos and they said they'd call back "those" who they wanted a second interview with between 5 and 6, and guess who got a call...not me

well its 622 now and i'm gonna leave in lil bit for the bball game and soccer game but - dang - oh well - if anyone knows of any other jobs available - please let me know - maybe they'll call back later - i sure hope so

today school started back - it was crazy -i have 2 new classes and i only have 1 class with liz richmond - i didnt see brittany today but thats ok - i dont have any classes with ratchel - but anyhow - hi rachel -

soon many of my college friends will bee heading back to their respective campuses - good luck to all in this next semester - in which i will be doing fun things and enjoying myself -
somone cut down our senior tree and i want to chop off something dear to them - go home you freaking faggots - you dont deserve to be noticed by people if you do something that moronic and stupid
go home, get a job, find something better to do then cut down a tree

panty-wastes

:-)

away i go -

Sunday, January 05, 2003

i want to say hi to the following people:

katie the winner
marti
rich liz
silverado
a sull
my dad
hello kurt - you are a loyal reader i hear

aloha all - wow - days just fly by - i'm going crazy - i'm actually very excited to start back up with school...i have 2 new classes (of my 4) and i'm extremely interested to see who will be in those classes - tomorrow is church and then monday we have off - this is crazy -

allright - i have a bone to pick - time to write about something that bothers me - why do people expect you to do somethign for them when they dont do the same thing for you - for instance

I'm too busy to read others blogs - but i still expect a devoted readership to my blog - i'm not too interested in others blogs -but i certainly want mine to be read often by many...thats stupid and illogical to expect that - folks -its a 2 way street - if you want devoted readers - be a devoted reader (if you want a friend, be a friend - i think thats the old tyme saying) - but what i'm saying applies to other things as well - if you expect people to listen to you whine and groan about your problems - you HAVE TO BE WILLING TO listen to them - its as simple as that - dont be a selfish fag - just ya know - return the favor - dont really expect a favor back but - yah

why do people want to avoid certain situations all the time - why? can they not handle a little awkwardness - or maybe they dont have any kind of gut to stand up and just be themselves - for example - i see girls do this alot (maybe some guys...but more so girls) - things such as
"hey suzie, lets not go herre - i think there will be jimmy - who i dont wanna talk to because he kinda has a crush on me and i cant stand to look at him"
or
"Oh my gosh, shameeka, look over therre...no! not yet - in a minute - its billy ray - he's so nerdy and i totally feel uncomfortable whenever i see him, lets take a long way around so there is no possible way i have to be uncomfortable"

ladies and GENTLEmen - dont live your life avoiding things - live your life doing things you want to and doing things you believe in - if you go around looking to avoid situations - you will miss out - on many many things - its weak and its selfish - 2 things I know i dont want to be characterized as -
i know what your saying - but daniel - what if...whatever...
i'm not saying just go into any situation - if there is a situation in which you need to avoid something - then avoid it but- dont walk around school intentionally looking for situations to avoid - if you come up on one - be a big person who doesnt flee - stand and just be yourself - the situation will be over soon - and if its really that bad - like endagering to health or something then just leave but - i think you all catch what im saying by now -

weak people who dont desire to change make me sick -
weak people who desire to change - INSPIRE THE CRAP OUT OF ME

weak people - you arent really weak - its all in your head - be strong - stand up and dont let anyone bring you down

any how - i was bored last nite so i met my friend andrea from cy creek over at taco bell - and we went over to kyle crad's house and there we just hung out for about 20 minutes- then people such as mary and adam hull, susan, jessica and austin decided that maybe it would not start to rain and get nasty and go look in prestonwood at christmas lights- funny - anyway andrea, kyle and i didnt really feel like doing so - we have experienced christmas lights for the past (collectively 54 years) of our lives.....figure that one out..... its not hard for those of you not in the top 10 percent (oh wait -thats me too...crap) - so we decided to make our way to the taco bell- which andrea had never experienced
so matt goodwin met us up therre and then ben the train joined us
just as we were enjoying our tacos it started to rain - BAD - like ya'll know- it was really bad - so we were sitting by the window lookin at the palm trees outside sway back and forth with the torrential winds and rain - and we get calls on our cell phones from none other than the group who wanted to go christmas shopping - mary, adam, austin...etc. - so - adam didnt make it up therre - i wonder where he went - but soon enough we see mary's car come rolling up and people start dashing in - austin - trying to talk to someone on the phone- or maybe he wasnt im not quite sure- ran in through the doors and hit the plastirubber matts on the inside - and his feet go flying - i mean folks - he must have gotten his body horizontal - 3 feet in the air - it was nuts- and BOOM - "Down goes Frazier!!!" so - yea - we all laughed and enjoyed the tacos then made our way back to my house to watch Mr. Deeds

I am berry berry sneaky sirr

Wednesday, December 11, 2002

Here i sit - and i'm going to write a big long blog because i can. I'm sitting in the computer lab at Willow Chase (a branch of Tomball Community College) on a freaking awesome computer and its really fast - and my connection is really fast - so i'm doing things online that would take me about 20 minutes or so at home - in about 4 minutes - maybe 4 minutes and 34 seconds. Anyway- i just finished my class - english 1301 - we turned in our final essay - as our final exam. Wow - i got a A- and an A as my 2 major grades for the last essay we turned in - i'm very pleased - anyway - right now i'm very hungry and we're waiting on chelsea munn to register for freaking 1302 - dang- why today?! - its such a nice day out and i'm hungry - austin says papasitos on him as soon as chelsea is done -
man alive do i hate that chelsea munn

ha - j/k - i love her - she's great - and while i'm on the subject - i have very loyal fans i have noticed - people such as kim and lindsay and katie and rachel and hmm....i regret mentioning names because i'm sure that someone will now tell me that they too are a loyal reader and want props for being so - and i have no problem giving them props - so please tell me - if you are a loyal reader - because i certainly appreicate you

my blogs have been pretty short and inconsistent - thats because the 2.5 weeks after Thanksgiving vacation and before Christmas break are stacked full of crap that teachers choose to give us - so i've been trying to keep up with all of this work - it sucks
but its almost over - and i'm so glad -

now for some juicy stuff that people may like:
as some of you may be aware - i'm dating a girl...she's 16 and will be 17 on december 30th - she's a great Christain girl and she's really really cute too - and oh yea - i gues she has a great personality as well - as if i look for that ...sheesh.... (jk)
i enjoy the time i spend with her (and although its not alot - i cherish it) and she makes me happy
all of my friends make me happy as well - and i'm so blessed to have all the things i do - especially my friends and family -

this past weekend my brother (who just turned 16) brought his team down from a 2-0 deficit in the second half of his soccer game, scoring (by himself) 4 goals to take the team to the State championship tournament

This evening he has a game and will be travelling to Austin this weekend to finish playing all of his games and hopefully win the state championship.
I forgot to mention that my brothers team is under 16's and they played up a year - they played this season with the under 17's and they won their division - even beating the U17 team from their own club - Go Classics 86/87

WEll - i'm gonna go out of the computer lab and check out whats going on - if i'm bored - back to the lab again (haha...anyone get it?) to do more things - and maybe blog more since i enjoy this keyboard greatly

Monday, December 09, 2002

i didnt mean to say - read on adam - i was trying to do a link thingy - eh - o well - i'm not a computer langusistics genius

i'm gonna go do some homework

how greatful i am to you - my reader -

my blogs havent been consistently long or interesting but - i encourage you to read on

LINDSAY FOWLER

we lost our lacrosse game and i worked at a private party -setting up for the festivities occuring now...

exciting weekend....i'm so glad this semester is almost over...whew

Saturday, December 07, 2002

KIM PODRAZA - hey kim - i'm sorry i forgot to mention you the other day

well - i went to a lacrosse game today and then i worked setting up for a huge party at the Lanier's.
I made some money which makes me happy - now i'm going to be over at miori's for a little bit watching the Big 12 championship - neat huh?

i think i want OU to win. - go OU.

You see, working at the laniers isnt a particularly grueling task, but it is one in which you have to be self motivated to do work and complete things - i dunno - i was acutally working and stuff and some people were just like standing around or just like riding around in a golf cart - i mean come on folks - if someone is paying you to work - then geez - work - dont just sit there and pick your butt waiting for a job to come to you -
i think it falls somewhere in the lines of the "honor code" - anyway - i may be working tomorrow at the lanier's party where many many people will be - enjoying free food and games and many many things - such as a concert by Crosby, Stills and Nash (and Young, but he died)
anyway - i'm gonna go - time for some food

o yes my brother's birthday was thursday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER - he's 16 - very scary - time flies by so much - i'm scared

o yes - i finished my college apps to U.T. and A&M - i think i'll end up at A&M though - so - o well - gig 'em

Aloha

WEell tomorrow I'm going to the University of Texas vs. Texas A&M game in Austin. I'm travelling up there w/ my bro and the ever famous and awesome Chris Riley and back with someone. I'm not sure just yet so...

Anyway - I'm gonna hit the sack soon, after I talk to my friend in Seattle - Caitlin.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE - and i'm thankful for each and every single one of you who read my blog. It means alot to me believe it or not, and I'm sorry when I dissapoint you with boring blogs, and I'm proud when I make you laugh or ponder deeper things.

Very Truly Yours,
Daniel
Well as i sit here let me tell you whats going on. Oasis is playing on Winamp and my bro is playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater on NINTENDO 64! How awesome is that?! Well the Davis family came over and we enjoyed many good laughs and stuff with them. We went back to the Davis' and we got the N64 and had a few games of older vs. younger brothers in RUSH 2 - Extreme Racing USA and Goldeneye 007. WOW. I cant really write much more about it. It was such an amazing time - the memories - the good times - the 64 bits. WOW.
Anyway, I know that everyone has many types of traditions they do on Turkey Day, and one of ours has been for the past like 17 years or so is to cook our turkey in the oven inside of a paper bag. Evidently a long time ago someone suggested it to my mother and father and we've enjoyed rich, juicy turkey ever since.
Let me list some of the things I'm thankful for (in no particular order):
God, my family (mom brother dad), my other family - not in Houston, my best friends, all of my friends, my car, money, the Bible, music - of MANY kinds, football, soccer, golf, grass, outdoors, water, swimming, 70 degree weather, 30 cent wing night at BW3's, volleyball, food, my friends out of Texas (you know who you are)

Wednesday, November 27, 2002

Many of my college friends are getting in to town today. Some got into town yesterday as well. I'm wondering what i should do with today.

Monday, November 25, 2002

I can't believe that every single school district in the Area has the ENTIRE week off, and not just Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Thats stupid - cuz all my friends have been able to go out these past days, and i'm stuck at home studying for stupid tests. CRAP! That sucks!
Well - tomorrow is 30 cent wing day at BW3's - so i'll be hittin' that, celebrating the Thanksgiving Holidays...
Speaking of which - look for an updated post of a list of things i'm thankful for...
Well, I'm not really sure what to post - i had a good topic today in History for some reason, but i've since forgotten. My grandmother got in town today and she's staying for Thanksgiving. We usually hang out with the Davises (?) - or rather the Davis family - on Thanksgiving and we enjoy good times. Its my brother's birthday soon - December 5th to be exact - which i believe is Katie Tenney's birthday as well - so to both my brother and Katie - happy birthday, soon.
Hopefully before the year ends, I'll be able to make it up to see Claudia Howell - my best Virginia friend, whom i miss dearly. Claudia - you are so awesome.
I'm trying to find a ticket, as well as a job for which i can earn money to buy presents for my family and a ticket to VA, to see her.

Saturday, November 23, 2002

Well i just got back from San Marcos where our volleyball team lost to Austin Westlake in the State semifinals. Man this sucks - we lost - but the girls played an awesome game, and I'm proud of them. Anyway, I'll update my blog later today i hope.

Tuesday, November 19, 2002

Well, I really had some good topics in my mind this afternoon to blog about.....but i forgot them.....tough cookies...
Romans 7:15
"For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not doing what I like to, but I am doing the very thing I hate."

Claudia, I miss you...

Yea, I"m a slacker too - i'll try really hard folks to update it later this week

I was in North Carolina where my brother was playing a national soccer tournament...he's good...so is his team

Geez, I wish i had more time, or used it more efficiently anyway...

Tuesday, November 12, 2002

Why does the decision of which college to go to come down to so much?
Friends, education, acceptance, ahhhhhhhhhh
Dang, I wish it was easier...

Any advice for me?

Monday, November 11, 2002

Hello readers,
Monday at school is done, and I'm just turning in my Latin 4 paragraph. I decided to take a minute to write a quick entry. As i've talked to many people since i've started 'blogging', it find it very interesting how many people have read at least one entry of my blog. I appreciate each one of you. My counter is at 900 something and I love the way I'm able to communicate with people through this medium. My blog is a way to express myself and the thoughts that i have regarding different topics. Its encouraging that people read it and I implore of you to keep it up.

This past weekend, as i've already said, I took a trip with Ben Williams to College Station. We met up with many of our friends there (both current high schoolers as well as our friends at A&M) and had a "whale-of-a-time". For next year at college, I realized that i want to be surrounded with people who exhibit the some or all of the following characteristics:
- Caring, selfless, Christ-like attitudes
- Humourous
- Athletic
- Smart
- Hard-working/Focused
- Knowledge of college sports
- Understanding

I think this is a good start on a list of characteristics that are appealing to me. NOW, WHAT I'M NOT SAYING IS THIS: I will only hang out with people who exhibit these qualities. Its just that I greatly appreciate people who exhibit many of these attitudes. Wouldn't you?
Well I'm off to go and eat something...
Aloha

Sunday, November 10, 2002

I'm on Steven Morris' computer, its 9:30 in the morning and I had a great time yesterday in college station. Let me tell you what made my visit to Aggieland an extremely awesome one.
1) I was at the biggest upset in college football this semester. I was at the Texas A&M game where they beat Oklahoma University. I called Whitney H. many times this weekend, but she would not answer her cell phone. She goes to Oklahoma University, and Oklahoma University lost, they lost to A&M.
2) At Joelle Webb's and Abby Johnson's and Jessica Wright's, and Rachel Maclahan's place, I stayed most of Saturday night. There we watched Zoolander, hung out, and played poker. One of my long lost poker friends, Chris Riley, was in town for the weekend as well, and so Me, Miori, and Chris Riley introduced Jon Boben to 2 awesome poker games that my friends and I usually play: 3-5-7, and Acey Ducey. It was very fun and i lost approximately 10 dollars. That was not a fun part, but hey - Good times were had by all.
3) Walking around, driving around, doing whatever in College Station is definately a cool thing.

Well I'm fixing to leave for home, so hopefully i'll post more later...

Interrupted - i just went and found Ben - he stayed with his friend last night, so...

Saturday, November 09, 2002

ok - so here i sit
Never again will I attend another High School football game:
1) As a high school student
2) As a Standleader
3) As an avid fan of high school football - although - i'm sure i will love watching H.S. games later in life.

Man, its kinda sad - we lost to a great Klein Forest team - they are good - i must give props where props are due. (Props KF, Props)
Anyway - tommorrow i head up to Texas A&M to watch the game, err massacre, that is A&M v. OU
Good luck Aggies - you'll need alot.
Tommorrow night I will post from Aggieland - maybe in Jon Boben's dorm, maybe in Steve Morris'

Aloha

Thursday, November 07, 2002

I just got back from a trip to Bryan where Klein Varsity volleyball wrecked shop on Round Rock.

Dang, what an intense game. The Standleaders were going crazy, the volleyball players were playing aweosme. WOW! what a night for Sport and more specifically, Volleyball.
How desparately i wish that Klein had a men's volleyball team. I would be on that like ugly on Whoopi Goldberg. i could not imagine how cool it would be if there was even like a sand volleyball club.

Ok, well i'm out - what a night - and tommorrow night THE FOREST WILL BURN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, November 05, 2002

Chris Riley (of the late Riley Factor.....well not really late - but delayed, lets say) decided it might be fun
to waste his time (since he has nothing to do with his boring life) clicking back and forward on my page, increasing my counter.
Thank you Chris, you big poopy-doo doo head.

That is all....for now

Monday, November 04, 2002

I could not have said it better...

ThePatBrown: I like football
ThePatBrown: I like sport
ThePatBrown: sport and america
ThePatBrown: God bless where we live
ThePatBrown: where the klein football budget is bigger
than the average net profits of many african countries

Truth...

Why is it, folks, that people are so quick to resort to violence even at the slightest hint of a joke...

This is made up - not a bit of truth to it...but i did encounter a similar situation...and it just bewilders me

Daniel (in a joking manner, to crazed country boy obsessed with his mediocre truck): Man, I'm gonna slice your tires, and key ur doors! HAHA!

Crazed country boy (offended): No you arent, you had better not, cuz i'll keel you...I sware - if you do - i'll kill you and your family...

Its funny - just how people over react... - remember this is a paralell situation, and i didnt really have this exact conversation...
