Well i just got back from exciting Port Aransas - there was not alot to do there but our family managed to have a good time - i'm glad we went. Some of the things we did included: deep sea fishing, having the most miserable lunch ever, playing the most God-awful golf course ever...you might think that you've played it - but ya know what - you havent...unless you've played "Coral Dunes" or whatever its called...it was horrid...more on that later..., and walking up and down a beach with sand as hard has pavement.

Anyhow - so tuesday our family decides to find a golf course in Port Aransas - and not expecting Augusta, we call around and find this course - Dunes whatever...and decide to give it a whirl - so we go in to the "pro-shop" which is nothing more than a temp. trailor - since the new "club house" was being built beside it - it was actually very impressive looking but - why they had a 2 story building for this course...God only knows...anyhow - we walk in and this lady - very nice- looks up and asks us if we were "spring breakers" in to play some golf - and my dad informs her that we are...so she says - ya know what - i'm gonna give you guys a discount - so she charges us 15 bux per person - to walk 18 holes (which turned out to be walking the same 9 "holes" twice) So we get out there and we're fixing to tee up but the groundskeeper/marshall comes up to us and asks us if we've ever played here before -and we tell him that we havent and he says - well could ya'll just skip number 1 and come back to it later since i have to finish taking care of the greens? we agree - and then he informs us that ... now get this...the second hole- you just follow the cart path to get to it...and we all just smile but - as soon as he was out of earshot - we were laughing...i guess we looked pretty pathetic - anyhow- the "golf course" was set up that you have to play these 9 - par 3 holes - twice...but there is 2 different tee boxes and on the "big" greens - there were 2 different colored flags -the red boxes and flag were for the first hole and the blue boxes and flag were for the back 9 - anyhow - it was nuts- never did i ever use anything higher than a 8 iron and i used my pitching wedge to tee off most of the time...and the funniest parts - i have pictures - was one of the holes - numbers 7/16 i think it was - was about 40-49 yards long and all of us used our PUTTERS to tee off and put it to the green...it was hilarious - guess ya had to be there... well i'll spare you the story of Betty - the forgetful/alzheimers waitress from west texas who hated canned clam chowder...and how it took us 20 minutes to get our food at a local joint for lunch...granted it was crowded but 3 groups came, ate and left before we got our food - it was probably longer than 20 minutes...it was crazy...anyhow - we had fun...go to relax...caught some sharks from the deep sea - ate them for dinner...and now i'm back to enjoy the rest of my spring break - i love my family - God really has blessed me...
i'd like to play some poker- after watching the world championships on ESPN - this week were an amatuer won - beating out all these "seasoned professionals"...after a 6 hour long stand at the table...

anyway - aloha - call me if you'd like
